  Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 are expected to be unveiled in less than two months, but not much is known about what will be new.  Rwanda has allocated Rwf2.3 billion in the 2024/2025 fiscal year which will commence on July 1, as initial funding for setting up a Drone Operation Centre as the country seeks to develop its unmanned aircraft industry at the same time ensuring its utilisation and effective regulation, The New Times has learned. The facility will be located in Huye District, Southern Province at an area currently occupied by Huye aerodrome (airfield). Lené Kabalisa, the Principal Research and Development Engineer at Rwanda Information Society Authority (RISA), told The New Times that the Drone Operation Center (DOC) project total budget is Rwf13.4 billion, and is expected be completed in 2026. He pointed out that it will be able to accommodate more than 3,000 drones, depending on the size. Education Minister Gaspard Twagirayezu attends Ministerial Meeting on the margins of Asia tech Summit in Singapore in 2024 Rwanda and Singapore have announced that they will be partnering to lead the development of a Digital Forum of Small States (Digital FOSS) Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance Playbook, which is expected to be available by the end of 2024. The playbook, which is tailored for small states, will address the challenges associated with the secure design, development, evaluation, and implementation of AI systems, taking into consideration the unique constraints that small states face. The aim, the two countries said, is to facilitate collaboration among policymakers in FOSS, to establish a trusted ecosystem where AI technologies are utilised for the benefit of the public. Rwanda’s Minister of ICT and Innovation, Paula Ingabire, underlined Rwanda’s commitment to synergising with other world actors in harnessing the benefits of artificial intellience.
