I used Motorola and Samsung folding phones. Only one gets this feature right

 

Any device's software is vital, but when you have less screen real estate to work with the user interface, it becomes much more significant. When it comes to folding usefulness, the Motorola Razr series has always outperformed the Galaxy Z Flip family. With its large cover screen, Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 5 this year narrows the difference between the two clamshell folding smartphones.

But sporting a big outer display doesn’t immediately make a flip phone foldable a whole lot more useful; case in point – the Oppo Find N2 Flip , where Oppo gave us six widgets (and added a couple more later) to play around with and called it a day. While Samsung brings 13 widgets to the table, the cover screen software is still not on par with the Motorola Razr Plus .

I’ve waited for years to get a big cover display on a Galaxy Z Flip phone for two reasons. One, I prefer Samsung’s cameras over Motorola’s for reliability and color tuning. Second, I like One UI and had high expectations of how it would make the cover screen more useful than ever. But after spending a couple of hours with the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in Seoul, I can confidently say that the Motorola Razr Plus’ cover screen software is more intuitive and useful than its Samsung counterpart.


Then there’s my favorite thing: Moo Time. It’s silly but fantastic. Moo Time is a clock style on the Razr Plus. “Moo” is the name of a character, which is interactive and reacts to your taps. Depending on the time of the day, it’s doing something or the other.

For instance, Moon gives you a kiss when you tap it and brushes its teeth at seven in the morning. During the day, Moo uses a laptop and looks at you irritably if you tap on it. In the midday hours, coffee is also consumed. Around 7 p.m., you can spot it returning from work in a subway, and at night, you can discover it asleep. The feeling of having your flip phone closed will never get old. The characters available on the Galaxy Z Flip 5, however, are not nearly as endearing. In my opinion, this is the greatest upgrade for a Motorola Razr phone.

Bulgaria issues guidelines for AI implementation in schools

 The Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science on Monday issued guidelines for the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in schools. The guidelines are for teachers, school officials, parents, and schoolchildren, to assist  in the proper and ethical use of AI, said the ministry. The 41-page document gives a definition of AI and how it works, and mentions AI tools such as chatbots. It says that the use of AI should help to improve the quality of education, and remain in line with national educational regulations. The guidelines also call for a balanced integration of AI tools into the learning process, since these tools provide both new opportunities and potential risks. "The use of AI in education must be constantly monitored and evaluated for its impact, taking into account the pace of development of technology and especially of AI systems and tools," said the document. How coding training nurtures software developers from Mahama refugee camp

Leilah Carmene Ntirampeba, a refugee in Mahama camp in Eastern Province, had lost hope for the future when her family fled Burundi in 2015. Ntirampeba, 24, enrolled in a local secondary school and studied Mathematics, Economics and Geography. After secondary school, she enrolled in a coding programme offered at the camp located in Kirehe District. Though life in a refugee camp means that there are limited resources and it is hard to have reliable incomes, training in software development offers opportunities for employment and internship placements for refugees like Ntirampeba.
